How do I modify the confirmation emails and other strings in the public files?

All strings of text that appear in any of the files within the ListMessenger public directory are stored in the associated language file. For example, the default language is English and all English strings (including the confirmation e-mail messages, message subjects, etc) are stored in listmessenger/public/languages/english.lang.php.
